The Southern Utah Shooting Sports Park
(SUSSP) is a publicly owned and
operated facility adjacent to the Washington County fairgrounds.
Please click on the links to find detailed
information about the various shooting venues included in the SUSSP.
The public is welcome to participate at any of these venues, subject to
operating hours and any equipment, ammunition, and safety rules under
which each of the venues operates. Your safety and enjoyment are
our primary concerns. The SUSSP includes the following venues:
- Rifle & Pistol venue - This is a
200 yard shooting range open to the public during scheduled
operating hours. Any legal firearms and ammunition are allowed
on this range. This range is supervised by a range officer for
your safety and the safety of others. This is the venue for
shooting your pistols and rifles "at will" without being part of an
organized match or event.
- Sporting Clays venue - This
world-class facility is designed specifically for trap, skeet, and
other sporting clays. The facility is
operated by Purgatory Clay Sports and is open only during
scheduled operating hours (click link for details).
- Tactical venue - This facility is
operated by the Southern Utah Pistol & Revolver Club, and affiliate
of the U.S. Practical Shooting Association. All events at this
range are managed and operated by the club. Club membership is
not required to participate, but club rules regarding firearms,
ammunition, safety, and other procedures must be obeyed in order to
use this range. This range is only open during scheduled
operating hours (click link for details).
- Cowboy Action Shooting venue -
This facility is one of the premier cowboy action shooting venues in
the region. The range is managed and operated by the Dixie
Desperados Cowboy Action Shooting Club, an affiliate of the Single
Action Shooting Society (SASS). Club membership is not
required to participate, but club rules regarding firearms,
ammunition, safety, and other procedures must be obeyed in order to
use this range. This range is only open during scheduled
operating hours (click link for details).
- Archery venue - This facility is operated by the Red Rock Bowmen
and is open only during scheduled
operating hours. Please click on the link on the left of this
page to access the archery website. The public is welcome.
